Oscar-winning actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro share the screen for the first time in over 30 years in acclaimed director Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film “Killers of the Flower Moon.”

Based on David Grann’s 2017 non-fiction book “Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI,” the story tracks a brutal wave of murders in 1920s Oklahoma involving oil-rich Osage Nation members killed for their wealth and land. DiCaprio plays Ernest Burkhart, husband to an Indigenous woman (Lily Gladstone) and nephew to morally ambiguous local power broker (De Niro).

Adapted for the screen by Eric Roth and Scorsese, the real-life crime drama co-stars Jessie Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, and Brendan Fraser—the last of whom just took home his own Oscar for his role in “The Whale.” When the actor sat down with Howard in February, he didn’t shy away from talking about every aspect of his career, from his on-screen resurgence in high-profile films like “Killers of the Flower Moon” to his breakout role opposite Matt Damon and Chris O’Donnell in the 1992 drama “School Ties.” Watch a clip from their conversation (below).

“Killers of the Flower Moon” opens in select theaters Oct. 6 and arrives in theaters everywhere Oct. 20 before streaming globally on Apple TV+.
