VIDEO: From Outkast to Soundgarden, Howard Reveals Which 7 Acts Should Join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
King of All Media’s 2025 short list also includes Bad Company, Cyndi Lauper, Oasis, and the Black Crowes
March 11, 2025The nominees were announced Wednesday for the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class, and the 14 acts up for a possible induction are as iconic as they are varied. The decades-spanning list of eligible bands and artists includes everyone from Chubby Checker and Mariah Carey to Phish and Billy Idol, and as one might expect fans are already divided over which musicians should make the cut.
Naturally, Howard and Stern Show staffers Gary Dell’Abate and Jon Hein — each of whom gets to cast a Rock Hall vote — had some thoughts of their own.
First and foremost, Howard believed the Rock Hall should recognize Bad Company, the English rock group behind classic rock staples like “Shooting Star” and “Feel Like Makin’ Love.” “Bad Company is a fantastic fucking band, and [their] songs are monster,” Howard announced. “Easy decision right there.”
He went on to advocate for Soundgarden, Cyndi Lauper, Oasis, Joe Cocker, and repeat Stern Show guests the Black Crowes as well as Big Boi and André 3000’s legendary hip-hop duo Outkast. “Big Boi and André 3000 I believe belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Howard declared.
