If you thought Sophie had a difficult choice to make, just wait until you see the impossible question Howard put to co-host Robin Quivers on Monday’s Stern Show.
The conversation began when Robin, a well-known tennis lover, congratulated Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz on their recent wins at the 2025 French Open. Howard wasn’t surprised that his co-host wanted to once again talk tennis considering her zeal for the sport, but it did get him wondering how that compared to her love of finance.
“What is your bigger passion: tennis or the stock market?” Howard asked.
“That’s hard. That’s really hard,” Robin admitted with a laugh.
Since Robin seemed to spend more time actively investing money than hitting tennis balls, Howard assumed the edge might go to the stock market.
“No,” Robin responded. “I love watching these people develop. Alcaraz is only 22 years old — I’ve watched him since he was 18. Coco — I’ve been watching since she was 15. I’d have to give up the stock market,” she concluded.
Howard was surprised. “I have so much more to learn about you,” he said. “You’re an endless fascination.”
