DON’T SCREW OVER THE GUY WITH THE ASHY FOREHEAD Howard said that some priest must have been pretty angry last Ash Wednesday because he saw a lot people walking around with deep, dark ash marks on their foreheads that looked as if they had been pushed in pretty hard. Howard also said that Ash Wednesday is lot like Yom Kimpur because, a lot of times, you don’t realize certain coworkers are Jewish until they take the day off for it. So, when you see someone walking around with Ash on his head you realize he’s Catholic. Artie said he had a great Ash Wednesday story. He said that his buddy Anthony once pulled a pretty good scam on his bookie. He realized that a few hockey games that are listed in the paper as night games were actually played during the day. So he’d bet on them after the game was over and make lots of money. But he got greedy and the bookie caught on to it and wanted to meet with Artie and his friend when they had their weekly meeting to settle there tabs. Artie said they met the bookie in a McDonalds and he had a huge ash mark on his head because it was Ash Wednesday. So the bookie goes off on a rant about how he’s going to kill this guy Anthony if he ever pulls a stunt like this again and threatened to kill his wife and kid and rip their throats out and do all sorts of horrible things. Meanwhile, Artie had to keep his head down to stop from laughing because he thought it was so funny that this guy, who was involved in illegal gambling and threatening to kill a guy’s wife and child took the time to go get Ash on his forehead. Artie said he bet his wife nagged him and nagged him to go to church and he probably stopped there before meeting with Artie. Howard was laughing so hard at the story that he said he thought he was going to have a heart attack. Howard joked that if his agent, who he loves and has worked with for years, came into a meeting with an ash on his head Howard would probably fire him.
