After everyone had calmed down a bit following Jenny McCarthy’s visit, David Spade called in. He told Howard that Jenny was actually at his birthday party earlier this year and that she looked really good. He also reported that Jim Carrey was there, but he didn’t think the two of them were dating. Howard pointed out that David seems to know all the right people in Hollywood. David revealed that the guest list at his bash also included Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Costner, Bruce Willis, Ashton Kutcher and Teri Hatcher.

He’s Got on the Look

Howard informed David that he was watching a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina victims a few weeks ago, and that he thought Beck was David. However, after a few seconds he realized David would never devote his time to a charitable cause, so he figured out it wasn’t him. David admitted that he does have a resemblance to a few celebrities. He went on to say that he performed a standup gig in Toronto recently and that after the show a number of people came up to him thinking he was Ellen DeGeneres.

Put on the Brakes

The second episode of David’s new program, “The Showbiz Show,” airs tonight on Comedy Central. Because the show deals largely with making fun of celebrities, Robin wondered if David could take shots at people the way he used to, seeing as he is now a member of the “in crowd.” David admitted that he does have to watch what he says a little more carefully these days, but assured Robin he still lets even his friends have it.
