Although Howard pointed out that he didn’t like the way he looked in most of the shots on “60 Minutes,” he did enjoy the fact that the piece was a profile on him, and didn’t counter everything he said with comments from his critics.

Gary reported that he was driving in from Atlantic City when the show aired, but ended up watching it at the station later that night. Gary went on to note that, even after working on the show for 21 years, he didn’t get as much airtime as Sal, who was seen knocking over carts and dangling a banana over his head.

Sal then came into the studio and replied that his favorite part about the banana clip was when Gary swung at it, because it made him look just like a chimp.
