Howard mentioned that yesterday he got a call from Steve Martin, who asked Howard if it was all right if he used the show’s “boing” sound effect on an upcoming episode of “Saturday Night Live” he’ll be hosting. Howard noted that he once had dinner with Steve and that it was one of the highlights of his life. Howard then said that he gave Steve permission to use the “boing” sound effect, and that he was honored Steve contacted him in the first place. Artie then pointed out that truly funny people like Steve will do anything to avoid stealing material from other comedians.
