FIVE YEARS LATER

FIVE YEARS LATER

September 11, 2006
This morning began with Howard explaining today was going to be a different kind of show, noting, to honor the fifth anniversary of September 11, 2001, at 8:58 a.m. he would be re-airing his broadcast from that day. This led Robin to say there were a number of programs on last night about the terrorist attacks, but she couldn’t watch any of them because the memories were too painful for her. Howard then pointed out that he hadn’t planned on re-broadcasting the September 11th show, but he had gotten so much feedback from fans who wanted him to pay tribute to the anniversary that he decided to do so. Howard took a number of calls from listeners who remembered listening to the show when the first plane hit the World Trade Center, including one from a man who wondered if there was a conspiracy behind the fact that Osama bin Laden still hasn’t been captured. However, Howard didn’t think that was the case, pointing out that he believed one of the reasons bin Laden was still free was the support he has throughout the Middle East.
