Bob Schimmel acknowledged he wasn’t doing well this morning, explaining he and his wife, Melissa, who, you may remember, was once his daughter’s best friend, were having problems. Bob went on to say he and Melissa recently moved, and she told him she and her pottery instructor would take care of the move while he was on the road.

However, Bob reported the pottery instructor showed up to help with the move on a bicycle, and also criticized him for eating meat and giving his kids milk. Bob then said before he went to get lunch during the move, he joked to the pottery instructor that the restaurant where he was getting the food specialized in “barbecue goat,” which the guy said he wanted, even though he claimed to be a vegan.

Bob then said he was nervous the pottery instructor was hitting on Melissa, and recorded a conversation the two of them had while they were alone in the moving van on the way to their new house. As Bob noted what was said in the tape, though, Howard responded it sounded like Melissa turned down the guy, so he didn’t feel he had any right to be mad at her. When Bob proceeded to give more details about the situation, Howard pointed out he didn’t know if anything Bob was saying was true, and therefore asked him to change the subject.

Bob commented his 15-year-old daughter just got a belly-button piercing, and she was able to do so because one of her friends called the place pretending to be her mother and gave the person who pierced her permission to do so. Fred then said he was curious if Bob ever approached the pottery instructor about any of his accusations, but Howard again insisted the topic be dropped. Howard went on to take a call from a comedian named RJ, who claimed Andrew Dice Clay owed him money. After RJ talked about his problems with Dice, Artie said he knew who the caller was, and Howard promised to get RJ on the line the next time Dice was in the studio.

As Bob shared more details about Melissa and the pottery instructor – including that the two of them were making fun of him during their taped conversation – Howard noted the new facts changed everything, and asked Will to get Melissa on the line, which he did. Melissa then reported she stopped going to the pottery class in question because of the instructor’s behavior, and added she didn’t know what else to do to show Bob how much she loved him.

Bob insisted he wasn’t angry at Melissa’s behavior, but Howard pointed out he didn’t think he was telling the truth. When Melissa said she was scheduled to come to New York today to be with Bob, but that he had since told her not to show up, Bob didn’t have much of a response. Melissa went on to admit she should’ve told the pottery instructor to stop taking shots at her husband while the two of them were in the van together, but also mentioned what he was saying wasn’t too offensive to him. Before Robin got to the news, Melissa announced she was coming to New York no matter what, and Howard assured her Bob was smiling when she said so. Bob added he loved Melissa, and she replied she knew that was the case because she didn’t feel he’d have had this kind of reaction to her and her pottery instructor otherwise.
