King of All Blacks called in to ask if Howard felt black people or Hispanic people would bring down the real estate value more in a white community. Howard replied it didn’t matter what race of people moved into the community because he knew from experience growing up in Roosevelt that white people wanted to live only next to white people, regardless of how successful the minorities in questions were.

When Robin wondered if the same rule applied to black people moving into apartment buildings in Manhattan, Howard acknowledged he wasn’t “an expert” about that scenario. As the conversation continued, Gary came into the studio and reported Sal had told him his father showed the house he was selling years ago only at night because he was afraid potential buyers would see he had black neighbors.
