The Writer’s Strike Explained
November 12, 2007
Brian Koppelman called in to discuss the writer’s strike, so Howard asked him which films he’s written. Brian said he wrote “Ocean’s 13,” “Rounders,” and “The Illusionist” with Edward Norton, and explained that writers aren’t getting royalties on Internet downloads or streams. Howard asked what percentage the writers were seeking, and Brian revealed that writers only get 4 cents from the average DVD sale.
