Howard got Harry Franklin on the line to discuss the arrangement in which he paid Benjy $300 to read his novel, “Paradigm Shift.” Benjy said he thought what little of the book he read was good, but it needs to lose “about a quarter” of its length. Will came in to say he’d read the whole book for $500, but Harry ignored him and instead offered Fred $2,000. Fred accepted the offer – as long as he was paid up front.
