Jimmy Fallon is Having a Good Week
Jimmy Fallon stopped by to promote his new gig as the host of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and told the crew he never realized how great he had it doing one show a week on “Saturday Night Live” – the new schedule is harder than he thought.
Howard congratulated Jimmy on all the great reviews, but Jimmy replied that the true test would be after the spectacle of the premiere episode. Howard agreed, laughing: “Even Katie Couric had a good first week.” Howard thought Craig Ferguson was taking a cheap shot by asking critics to “go easy” on Jimmy during his first few weeks, but Jimmy was democratic, calling Craig “pretty cool.”
Jimmy said Craig (and Jimmy Kimmel and Jay Leno) had actually reached out to wish him well wishes – but the real surprise was a call from Dick Cavett. “It was like ‘The Twilight Zone’ where the phone is attached to the grave … what a great guy,” Fallon said.
Gary quickly went through Jimmy Fallon’s romantic resume, including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Winona Ryder, Jordana Brewster, and Gina Gershon. Jimmy didn’t comment on any of them, instead saying (toward the end of the list) that Gary was starting to make names up. Howard promised to grill Jimmy more thoroughly on his famous paramours the next time he visits.
