Howard got Piers Morgan on the phone to promote “America’s Got Talent” and asked why so many talent shows feature a harsh British judge. Piers explained: “There’s something in the American psyche that enjoys it when us Brits come over and are what we would call ‘brutally frank.'”

Piers said he had no qualms about hurting someone’s feelings: “There’s a million dollars at stake here. It’s not a little charity tea party.” Howard complained about “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon’s faux-urban language, and Piers shrugged: “I’m sure he’s deliberately playing up his background and his shtick to bring in that younger audience.”

Howard also asked Piers if he got paid more than fellow AGT judge David Hasselhof, and Piers burst: “I would certainly hope so!”
