Ricky ‘Dice’ Man
Tiki Barber By the Hour
Tiki Barber By the Hour
New York Giants great Tiki Barber stopped by to promote his new company, Thuzio, and come January 2nd, his debut as CBS Sports Radio’s morning man: “Opposite you!” Asked if he was one of the greatest running backs of all time, Tiki balked, saying he just fortunate enough to play in the post-Marshall Faulk era: “He was the second field general. He changed the nature of the position. I came into the league right after that. And it fit my style.”
The Cost of the NFL
Tiki said he retired after 10 years–but wishes he’d played one more: “I was getting beat up. … And to be perfectly honest, I didn’t think we were close, as a team, to winning a Super Bowl. And then [snaps] a year later…” But not even a Super Bowl ring can fix the bone spurs in his right knee: “At some point, I’m going to need a reconstruction.”
Asked about the current state of the NFL, Tiki thought the threat of concussions might slow recruitment–parents are starting to think twice about sending their kids off to football camp: “Something has to be done. I don’t know what it is. … There’s something going on that the NFL has to get their hands on.”
