Gary’s Tales From the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Baba Booey waxes nostalgic at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame about watching Nirvana perform with Joan Jett

Hall of Fame inductee John Oates with Gary (you tell us who is who)

Stern Show Executive Producer Gary ‘Baba Booey’ Dell’Abate was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week!

No, actually he wasn’t, but he did attend the ceremony and the way he was bragging about you’d think he did get in.

Somehow, thanks to E-Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren, Gary got to live out his ultimate fantasy and sit at the E-Street Band’s table for the induction ceremony. Booey waxed poetic about watching Nirvana perform with Joan Jett, the E-Street Band’s speeches, talking to Jackson Browne, and watching the elusive Cat Stevens perform three songs.

Howard loves Cat Stevens and told Gary to get him on the show.

The other highlight was watching his heroes (and one of his dopplegaangers) Hall & Oates get inducted by Quest Love. Quest even made a joke that after all those hit songs, John Oates still went on to another successful career, producing the Howard Stern Show. Baba Booey!

Howard asked Gary is Daryl Hall, John Oates, and Jon Hein were all in a sinking boat and could save only Jon Hein or Hall & Oates, who would it be? Gary said probably Jon Hein.

PROBABLY his best friend Jon Hein. Lucky Jon.
