Fred the Elephant Boy Reportedly Gets Pacemaker After Being Rushed to Hospital in Ambulance
“My beat count in my heart is slower than usual,” he tells Shuli Egar

Stern Show correspondent Shuli Egar got word last week that longtime Wack Packer Fred the Elephant Boy was rushed to the hospital after suffering a bout of “lightheadedness.”
I will like to thank you all for all the well wishes during my recent illness

“We called the ambulance,” Fred recounted to Shuli. “My beat count in my heart is slower than usual.” As a result, he was reportedly hooked up to a pacemaker.

Howard worried that the EMTs would give Fred the wrong medical care fearing he had suffered a stroke as a result of his speech impediment, which led Stern Show Executive Producer Gary Dell’Abate to go back to Fred’s first appearance on the show to see if he explained his condition any further. After some investigation, it seems he simply mentioned that he was born that way and never sought much treatment for it.
