Despite the early Monday morning call-time, both Howard and Robin confessed they were glued to their television screens Sunday night as Tom Brady led the New England Patriots to a historic Super Bowl comeback win.

“Oh my god it was the most exciting thing I’ve ever seen,” Howard said.

And to top things off, Lady Gaga’s halftime show was a big hit, too. “I thought she was amazing,” Howard continued. The only thing he took umbrage with was the video directing. “They end up missing everything” by using too many quick cuts, he said.

As far as halftime shows go, though, Howard was still adamant that Prince’s 2007 performance—which featured renditions of everything from Queen’s “We Will Rock You” to the Foo Fighter’s “Best of You”— remains the standard by which all others should be judged.

One thing Howard was not particularly impressed with were the 2017 Super Bowl commercials, which for the most part he couldn’t even decipher. “$5 million and I can’t follow it?” he scoffed.
