Tuesday marked Jeff “the Drunk” Curro’s 50th birthday. To honor the occasion Howard dug up the Wack Packer’s first-ever call to the Stern Show, among other memorable moments in the beer-drinking, carbuncle-harboring caller’s history.

The year was 1992 and Jeff was a youthful 25 years old, though his voice didn’t betray it. The Stern Show had just been syndicated to Albany and the native upstate New Yorker called to welcome Howard to the market.

“Do you have some official capacity? Are you the person who welcomes everyone to Albany?” Robin wondered at the time.

In another classic show moment, Jeff was given the opportunity of a lifetime when Howard brought in legendary singer Carly Simon to perform a duet with him, only for the Wack Packer to show up with a questionable brown substance on the back of his pants.

Despite his insistence that he had fallen in mud, few were convinced. Ultimately, though, the staff found Jeff a new pair of pants, allowing him to perform with Carly (below).

Despite the celebratory mood of the day, Jeff couldn’t help but complain about one other infamous show memory, even 15 years after the fact—the 2002 “Butt Billionaire” game that saw actor William Shatner win the Wack Packer a sexual experience with former porn star Tabitha Stevens. While there are still conflicting accounts of what exactly went wrong, what better way to move forward than by turning clips of the episode into a phony phone call?

Happy 50th, Jeff!
