AUDIO: Richard Christy and Sal Governale Get Into a Tradio Bidding War in New Phony Phone Call

Richard Christy and Sal Governale are no strangers to the Tradio airwaves but even after years of prank calling the on-air auction radio show, the two Stern Show staffers still have no problem getting through and having a little fun with the show’s host.

Their latest phony phone call started with Sal putting his one-of-a-kind teal washing machine up for sale with an asking price of $299. Moments later, Richard called into the show to sell the exact same washing machine.

“It’s a funny thing. I actually have the same teal-colored washer already. It’s the model RM-69,” Richard told the Tradio host before asking for $298.

“Some lady called in and undercut me,” an angry Sal said after calling back in. “I’m gonna go $297 to be safe.”

After those few fluctuations in washing machine prices, the Tradio host realized what was going on and tried to put an end to their back-and-forth. “Not gonna have a bidding war. Can’t do it this morning so, we’re gonna go to our next phone call,” he stated just before picking up on Richard once again, this time offering up his washing machine for one penny less than he originally asked for.

“I love phony phone calls so much, I can’t even tell you,” Howard said after playing Richard and Sal’s latest masterpiece. Hear the full phony phone call (below).
