VIDEO: The Benjy Vortex Goes Virtual as Stern Show Staffer Continues to Struggle With Zoom

Stern Show staffer Benjy Bronk’s issues with the Zoom conferencing system were evident Monday when he struggled to get the right angle while chatting with Howard, co-host Robin Quivers, and executive producer Gary Dell’Abate. “As you would suspect, everybody seems to know how to work everything correctly with the exception of Benjy,” Gary reported to Howard. “Sometimes Benjy’s on, sometimes he’s not, sometimes his camera’s on, sometimes it’s not.”

“Is he really that fucked up, Gary?” Howard wondered. “I used to think it was like a shtick or something but like why is he always the guy with the problem?”

Benjy joined in to defend himself but his video issues started immediately. “Dude, I can’t even see you,” Howard brought up to his staffer, who appeared to be on an angle and behind bars, prison style. “Why is Robin squared off, Gary’s squared off, Fred’s squared off, why are you not squared off?”

“The phone is in a holder and it doesn’t fit in that way,” Benjy explained. “When you say to turn on the mic I have to do things to the phone so it changes it for a second.”

The staffer even attempted to use his dog to win over his colleagues but came up short. “Hold on let me get Chicken,” Benjy offered of his four-legged friend. “You’ll like me when I’m holding her.”

“The dog is trying to escape,” Howard teased. “He’s on with me now, Chicken. Get out!”
