nude beach
He wrote some amazing late 80s Saturday Night Live sketches, like one of Howard’s favorites: Nude Beach.
The sketch supposedly generated 46,000 letters of complaint.
MARGE VS THE MONORAIL
He also wrote multiple episodes of the Simpsons, including the flat-out classic Marge vs. the Monorail episode, which is considered a watershed moment in the series’ history.
He even wrote a part for Stern Show announcer George Takei, but George turned it down. They went with Leonard Nimoy instead.
LOOKWELL
Then there’s Lookwell! You might not be familiar with the Adam West pilot that Conan and his longtime pal and collaborator Robert Smigel wrote, but it’s become a cult classic and Howard loves it.
HANS AND FRANZ MOVIE: THE MUSICAL!
Conan, Robert Smigel Kevin Nealon and Dana Carvey all collaborated on the aborted Hans and Franz movie musical. Watch Kevin and Conan talk about it on Conan’s show.
And finally, the classic Not Necessarily the News, which was the HBO show where Conan got his start.
