Vaping Competitions Are Heating Up In Spite of Obvious Health Risks
Smokers are taking their bad habits to new extremes with vape battles
August 8, 2016Move over bowling – there’s a new non-athletic sport making the rounds: Competitive Vaping.
The Vape Capitol Cloud battles are hitting the road in a 28 stop, multi-state tour across the country that will end at a smoked-out Las Vegas vaping championship finale. The grand champion will walk away with a $10,000 cash prize and a slight cough.
Competitor in both mens’ and womens’ divisions are judged on their ability to create massive clouds of vape smoke, as well as their arsenal of exhaling fog tricks.
“We turned to vape for a healthy alternative. We know once you get off cigarettes you want to be a part of something,” Andrea of Vape Capitol told NowThis. “Cigarettes don’t offer the same kind of fun we have.”
It should be noted that health experts do not advocate vaping, as the “water vapor” is believed to have serious health risks.
