An underground movement in New York is pushing the boundaries of “eating your greens.”

CBS2’s Janelle Burrell recently visited a secret, invitation-only supper club where a select group of about 20 diners feast on dishes, each cooked with marijuana. The chef and organizer — known only as Chef Mike — promises to take the guests “on a beautiful journey on a stairway to heaven and a beautiful time.”

The approach used by Chef Mike in his culinary creations starts with processing various strains of marijuana, extracting the THC — the element that causes people to get high — and infusing it into his cooking oil.

Marijuana is still illegal in New York, aside from regulated medicinal use. Recreational weed use is only legal in four states and Washington, D.C. However, weed supporters like Chef Mike continue to experiment with more creative uses of marijuana.
