Playboy Is Bringing Back Naked Women
“Nudity was never the problem,” explains Hugh Hefner's son Cooper

Just one year after nixing naked girls from its magazine, Playboy is headed back to its roots.
Cooper Hefner—son of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner—announced that the iconic men’s magazine would once again publish pictures of naked women starting in March. “I’ll be the first to admit that the way in which the magazine portrayed nudity was dated, but removing it entirely was a mistake,” Cooper tweeted on Monday. “Nudity was never the problem because nudity isn’t a problem. Today we’re taking our identity back and reclaiming who we are.”

In an Oct. 2015 announcement, Playboy explained their decision to eliminate nude photos from their pages due to online pornography being easy enough to find, and that “times change.”
The magazine will return to form with the help of March Playmate Elizabeth Elam, who appears topless on next month’s cover (pictured below) along with the caption “Naked is Normal.” The upcoming issue also includes an article about “freeing the nipple” and an interview with actress Scarlett Johansson.
Cooper has also published an 1,100 word essay which offers a deeper glimpse into the magazine’s vow to return to its roots and to embrace a politically charged philosophy. Check it out here.
