After being devoured by his own hounds last season on “Game of Thrones,” Ramsay Bolton has found new life as a different deranged character on a highly anticipated Marvel series.

Iwan Rheon has been cast as the lead on ABC’s upcoming superhero show “Inhumans,” according to multiple reports published Tuesday. The Welsh actor—best known as House Bolton’s sadistic bastard heir on HBO’s popular sword-and-dragon drama—will play Maximus the Mad.

“Inhumans” is based on a super-powered race of aliens imagined by Marvel legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in the ’60s. The series will focus on a character named Black Bolt as well as his royal family, including younger brother Maximus the Mad—described as a cunning but charming faux-populist who secretly covets power.

“Iwan’s ability to be charming, roguish, and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life. We’re thrilled to have him on board,” said Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel Television and executive producer, in a statement obtained by Variety.

ABC gave “Inhumans” a straight-to-series order last year and the show is set to premiere sometime this fall, with the first two episodes debuting on IMAX before hitting the network. Though ABC’s other Marvel series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” also includes Inhuman characters, the two shows are reportedly otherwise unrelated.
