“Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander is plotting his return to scripted TV comedy.

The Emmy-nominated actor and longtime Stern Show superfan is executive producing and starring on “Hit the Road” for the Audience Network, according to Hollywood Reporter, a forthcoming comedy about a family of wannabe rockers who travel the country in a tiny tour bus seeking fame and fortune. Jason will play Ken Swallow, the family patriarch.

“I am so honored by the faith and support we’ve been given by AT&T Audience Network and our producing partners,” Alexander said in a statement. “We are so excited to bring this funny, fearless, chaotic musical family to life. And we are so grateful for the opportunity.”

The network, also home to scripted shows like “Kingdom” and “Rogue,” has ordered 10 episodes of “Hit the Road.” A premiere date has not yet been announced.

When Jason last visited the Stern Show in 2015, it was on the heels of the Tony-winner’s performance in the Broadway play “Fish in the Dark,” from “Seinfeld” creator Larry David. Look back at that interview here and hear it On Demand with SiriusXM app here.
