Nearly 50 years later, three of Grammy-winner, former Stern Show caller, and noted vinyl collector Sir Elton John’s biggest hits finally received official music videos.

Fan-created videos for “Tiny Dancer,” “Bennie and the Jets,” and “Rocket Man” debuted this week at the Cannes Film Festival during a celebration of Elton’s and his longtime music partner Bernie Taupin’s half century-long music-making career. The selected videos were the culmination of a month-long YouTube contest which saw entrants from over 50 countries create accompaniments to three of Sir Elton and Bernie’s most iconic songs.

The rules were different for each track: “Rocket Man” entries utilized animation, “Tiny Dancer” entries utilized live action, and “Bennie and the Jets” entries utilized choreography. Now, the winners will forever be immortalized as the official videos for the three classic tunes.

“I’ve been moved and amazed by these re-imaginings of our songs and pretty humbled by the process overall,” Sir Elton said in a statement obtained by people. “The future of creativity is clearly collaborative, fusing art and technology and it’s been fantastic to open up our work to the next generation of creative talent and to share that process with the world on YouTube.”
