ESPN has released the trailer for “30 for 30: Mike and the Mad Dog,” a documentary chronicling the legendary careers of sports-talk radio pioneers Mike Francesa and Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo.

As the trailer (above) notes, “Mike and the Mad Dog” was an immensely popular afternoon radio program on New York City’s WFAN which kicked off in the late ’80s and helped pave the way for an entire industry of sports talk radio shows. Much to their fans dismay, however, the duo would part ways in 2008.

“You’re married too long and then the other things the guy does drives you crazy,” Chris explains in the preview for the documentary.

“Mike and the Mad Dog,” the latest installment in ESPN’s acclaimed “30 for 30” doc series, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April and debuts on TV in July.

Chris has joined the Stern Show on numerous occasions over the years, most recently in 2016 to announce a new three-year deal with SiriusXM on his very own Mad Dog Sports Radio channel. He of course also appeared in “Bad News Booey,” a “30 for 30” parody celebrating Stern Show Executive Producer Gary Dell’Abate’s ill-fated first pitch in 2009.

“30 for 30: Mike and the Mad Dog” hits ESPN at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 13.
