Video: Dax Shepard Bumps Fists, Packages in First ‘CHiPs’ Trailer

Dax Shepard has left little to the imagination in the first trailer for his “CHiPs” reboot.

The past Stern Show guest directed the comedy, a remake of NBC’s identically titled 1977 TV cop drama, and stars alongside Michael Peña, who plays his partner “Ponch”—a character famously portrayed on the original series by Stern Show and “Son of the Beach” veteran Erik Estrada. In the 2017 version, Dax and Michael play two motorcycle-riding members of California’s Highway Patrol who seem to bust their bikes just as often as they bust the bad guys.

In one scene from the trailer, Dax strips down to his briefs in the locker room and bumps packages with a fellow officer, much to Ponch’s chagrin. In another, Dax gets ridiculed by his real-life wife Kristen Bell.

Adam Brody, Jessica McNamee, and “Saturday Night Live” alum Maya Rudolph also star in the upcoming film, rolling into theaters on March 24.
