Justin Timberlake is a Coney Island lifeguard who gets mixed up with the mob in the official trailer for “Wonder Wheel,” a 1950s-set drama written and directed by Brooklyn native Woody Allen.
The drama unfolds after Timberlake’s character Mickey meets Carolina (Juno Temple), a distressed woman who’s on the run from her gangster husband and holing up on the boardwalk with Humpty (Stern Show veteran Jim Belushi) and Ginny (Kate Winslet), a middle-aged carousel operator and his unhappy, waitressing wife. A bond blossoms between Mickey and Carolina, but conflict looms on the horizon as her husband sends henchman —played by former “Sopranos” stars Tony Sirico and Steve Schirripa—to track her down.
“Wonder Wheel,” produced by Amazon Studios, premieres Oct. 14 at the New York Film Festival and hits theaters on Dec. 1. Watch the official trailer (above).
