VIDEO: The World’s Gone Upside Down in Final ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Trailer

Netflix's critically acclaimed sci-fi drama returns Oct. 27

October 13, 2017

Netflix has fittingly chosen Friday the 13th to drop the last trailer for “Stranger Things” Season 2, the eagerly anticipated follow-up to its super spooky (and super successful) series about a group of small-town ‘80s kids besieged by unspeakable threats from a parallel universe.

Set around Halloween, the final trailer for the forthcoming season teases everything from skyscraper-sized Lovecraftian monsters to a cornucopia of ‘80s pop culture references, like “Ghostbusters” costumes, campaign signs for Ronald Reagan, and a new Sigourney Weaver-from-“Alien” inspired look for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), the show’s super-powered young heroine.

There are also hints that the whole crew of kids—including Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Will (Noah Schnapp)—might soon be spending some quality time in the nightmarish Upside Down.

“Stranger Things” Season 2, also starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton of “The New Mutants,” drops Oct. 27 on Netflix. Watch the final trailer (above).
