November 14, 2017

Stone Temple Pilots took the stage on Tuesday night with their new lead singer Jeff Gutt. The band introduced Gutt during a special concert at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Calif., their first live show since the passing of their former frontman Chester Bennington in July 2017.

SiriusXM listeners will be able to hear the announcement and concert exclusively this Friday at 5 p.m. ET on Howard 101 and on Lithium Channel 34.

Fans of the Fox reality singing competition series “The X Factor” will recognize Gutt as the Season 3 runner-up.

STP’s search for a new vocalist has been ongoing for nearly two years after Bennington left to focus on his other band Linkin Park in November 2015. Before Bennington, Stone Temple Pilots was fronted by frequent Stern Show guest Scott Weiland who, along with bassist Robert DeLeo, founded the band in the mid-‘80s.

Hear the Stone Temple Pilot’s concert from the Troubadour Friday at 5 p.m. ET on Howard 101.
