AUDIO: Ed Sheeran Drops ‘Perfect’ Beyoncé Duet

Singer-songwriter teams up with the music icon for a highly anticipated remix

December 1, 2017

Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé have dropped a new duet that’s quite literally perfect.

The British singer, songwriter, and repeat Stern Show guest just released a new version of his chart-topping ballad “Perfect,” now featuring music icon Beyoncé.

The remix, which Ed teased earlier this week on Instagram, marks the third time he and Beyoncé have teamed up, following two onstage collaborations back in 2015. The lyrics for the song essentially remain the same as in the original version, with Beyoncé singing several verses and modifying only the gender pronouns.

“Perfect,” off Ed’s latest album “÷,” was written by Sheeran and inspired by his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn. He recently released a video for the original version of the cut, which follows him and actress Zoey Deutch as they fall in love on a mountain.

It’s unclear when Beyoncé plans to release her next album, but the superstar was recently revealed to be voicing Nala in Disney’s Jon Favreau-directed, live-action “Lion King” remake.

Ed, meanwhile, visited the Stern Show most recently in March. In addition to sitting with Howard for a lengthy conversation about his life and his career, the pop star wowed listeners with an in-studio performance which included “Castle on the Hill” and several covers.
