VIDEO: Jack Black Is a Dancing Con Man in ‘The Polka King’ Trailer

Netflix film co-stars Jenny Slate, Jason Schwartzman, and recent Stern Show guest JB Smoove

December 15, 2017

Jack Black plays a Polish-born, Ponzi scheme-operating polka prodigy named Jan Lewan in the upcoming Netflix comedy “The Polka King.”

In the newly released official trailer (above), Black’s thick-accented character has built his own polka empire which includes everything from a record label and vodka line to photo ops with the Pope. He also offers investment opportunities to those in his community, but after fellow Stern Show veteran JB Smoove knocks on his door we find out Jan has been running a con for quite some time.

Maya Forbes and Wallace Wolodarsky co-wrote and co-directed “The Polka King,” based on true story. It co-stars Jenny Slate (“Venom”), Jason Schwartzman (“Blunt Talk”), Jacki Weaver (“The Disaster Artist”), and former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Vanessa Bayer.

“The Polka King,” which premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, dances its way onto Netflix on Jan. 12. Watch the official trailer (above).
