Recent world events have U2 animated—literally.

The legendary Irish rock band dropped a new music video this week for “Get Out of Your Own Way,” a politically charged single off their new album “Songs of Experience.”

In it, paper cutouts of the band members are used along with a stop-motion animation technique to create a series of visually stunning sequences and set pieces. As for the video’s heavy theme, its directors—a Tel Aviv collective called the Broken Fingaz Crew—released a statement on YouTube accompanying their work.

“The song is both a personal letter and a clarion cry to the global situation, and in the same way, we’ve combined our psychedelic pop style with political imagery; shot entirely analogue, using paper cut and stop motion animation techniques,” they wrote.

Stern Show listeners have of course heard the new U2 single before. When the band’s frontman Bono and guitarist the Edge made their Stern Show debuts back in December, they performed the track live in-studio along with their album’s lead single “You’re the Best Thing About Me.”
