The Mona Lisa has a starring role in Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s music video for “Apeshit,” a track off the newly dubbed Carters’ recently released surprise album “Everything Is Love.”

Shot inside and around Paris’s world-renowned art museum the Louvre, the Ricky Saiz-directed clip (above) shows the vibrantly dressed power couple spitting rhymes in front of several of history’s most famous paintings and sculptures while a tightly choreographed group of synchronized dancers moves around them.

The song’s lyrics make mention of expensive sports cars, luxury watches, and Beyoncé’s starring role in the forthcoming live-action “Lion King” film as well as several hot-button issues, including the NFL’s treatment of its players and a controversial 2018 Grammys in which Jay-Z’s “4:44” was nominated for eight awards but he went home empty-handed.

When Jay-Z joined the Stern Show in 2010 to discuss his book “Decoded,” he and Howard spoke about a variety of subjects, including everything from Oprah Winfrey to the evolution of rap. Jay-Z also revealed how he’s able to continue to stay connected to his fans after his meteoric rise to fame. “I try to stay attached with the culture with everything I do. It’s very difficult, but I know where that comes from … you don’t have to be sitting on a bench in Marcy Projects to represent the culture,” he told Howard.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s “Everything Is Love” is available now. Watch the music video for “Apeshit” (above).
