All you need is love … and Sir Paul, apparently.
Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and repeat Stern Show guest Paul McCartney has dropped a new music video for “Back in Brazil,” a track off his recently released solo effort “Egypt Station.”
The lyrics for the tune tell the tale of a young Brazilian woman who falls in love with a new guy after a night of music, fun, and dancing, but their budding relationship falters after Mr. Tall, Dark, & Handsome bails on her after the boss forces him to work late. The video tells a similar story but in this version the two are hoping to attend a Paul McCartney concert together. He stands her up and she indeed grows frustrated, but all is eventually forgiven after the 76-year-old Beatle invites her on stage to dance her troubles away.
Paul returned to the Stern Show in September to discuss everything from “Egypt Station” to his early career with the Beatles. He also touched upon matters of the heart, speaking to Howard about not only the relationships that have affected his life but also the infamous one between his bandmate John Lennon and John’s longtime girlfriend Yoko Ono. “Looking back on it … the guy was totally in love with her and you know, you just gotta respect that. So we did and I do,” Paul told Howard. Watch a clip (below).
