VIDEO: Jeff Daniels’ F.B.I. Agent Clashes With Alec Baldwin’s C.I.A. Director in ‘The Looming Tower’ Trailer

10-episode Hulu miniseries tracks the rising threat of Osama bin Laden before the 9/11 attacks

Two of America’s most respected law enforcement agencies clash in the official trailer for “The Looming Tower,” Hulu’s upcoming 10-episode miniseries about the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and the events leading up to the Sept. 11 attacks.

Based on Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book “The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11,” the trailer (above) begins in 1998 and follows rivaling counter-terrorism divisions in the C.I.A. and the F.B.I. as they scour the world for information in the hopes of preventing an attack on U.S. soil.

Jeff Daniels stars as John O’Neill, a F.B.I. supervisor butting heads with C.I.A. officer Martin Schmidt (Peter Sarsgaard) and, eventually, C.I.A. director George Tenet, portrayed by Emmy-winning Stern Show regular Alec Baldwin.

When Alec joined the Stern Show most recently in December, he told Howard all about playing a different well-known political figure: President Donald Trump. He even revealed he and “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels might someday be adapting his portrayal of the president into a one-man Broadway show.

Listen to a clip from he and Howard’s conversation (below) and listen to the full interview here.

“The Looming Tower,” also starring Michael Stuhlbarg as Richard Clarke and Tahar Rahim as F.B.I. agent Ali Soufan, premieres Feb. 28. Watch the trailer (above).
