VIDEO: Aerosmith Guitarist Joe Perry and Extreme’s Gary Cherone Shake Things Up With ‘Quake’

Past Stern Show guests will set off on tour together in late November

November 9, 2018

Two rock greats have come together to release a new song, and soon they’ll be taking their show out on the road.

On Friday, Aerosmith guitarist and co-founder Joe Perry dropped an earth-shaking new single called “Quake,” featuring Extreme singer and fellow Stern Show veteran Gary Cherone. The guitar-heavy tune serves as a bonus track on the upcoming vinyl version of Perry’s 2018 solo album “Sweetzerland Manifesto.”

Directed by Joe’s son Roman Perry, “Quake’s” black-and-white music video (above) focuses primarily on Perry and his legendary guitar work as well as a couple of people dancing around the oversized lyrics for the song.

Later this month, Perry embarks on a 10-date tour alongside Cherone—who also sang briefly for Van Halen—and fellow Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford. The set lists will reportedly feature everything from early Aerosmith deep cuts to song’s from Perry’s solo catalogue.

Perry last joined the Stern Show in 2014 and opened up to Howard about everything from his new book to co-founding Aerosmith with Steven Tyler. Joe’s latest solo album “Sweetzerland Manifesto” hit shelves in January. It features assists from famous rockers, like Cheap Trick singer and past Stern Show guest Robin Zander, and was executive produced by Johnny Depp, who rocks alongside Perry in another band, Hollywood Vampires.

Joe Perry and Gary Cherone’s tour kicks off Nov. 30 in Sioux City, Iowa. Watch the music video for “Quake” (top) and get tour info here.
