VIDEO: Summer Is Coming on Season 3 of Bill Burr’s ‘F Is for Family’

Stern Show guest's animated comedy series returns Nov. 30 to Netflix

November 15, 2018

Netflix released the Season 3 trailer for Bill Burr’s semi-autobiographical animated comedy series “F Is for Family,” returning with new episodes later this month.

Bill, who co-created “F Is for Family” with Michael Price, voices the ’70s-set show’s patriarch Frank Murphy—a tightly wound, foul-mouth character Burr molded after his real-life father. The clip (above) begins with Frank looking forward to all the trappings of summer, including cold beer on hot nights, fireworks, and block parties, but he’s more than a little worried his family might ruin his fun.

“If either of you boys messes this day up for me, I’ll punch you right through the fucking wall,” Frank tells his sons (above).

The trailer contains plenty of similarly awkward family moments, many of them resulting in Frank hurling insults toward his wife (Laura Dern) and three kids (Justin Long, Debi Derryberry, and Haley Reinhart). Murphy’s party animal neighbor Vic (Sam Rockwell), based on Stern Show veteran Matthew McConaughey’s “Dazed and Confused” character, manages to get in on the hijinks, too.

The clip also teases a few action scenes, including fighter jets, a car spinning out of control, and a helicopter crash. While it’s not clear which characters are riding in the helicopter, Bill did reveal to Howard during his 2017 Stern Show visit that he’s actually a certified helicopter pilot in real life. Check out a clip from the sit-down (below).

“F Is for Family” Season 3 debuts Nov. 30 on Netflix.
