Brandi Carlile is having a pretty big month.

The folk rock singer-songwriter and recent Stern Show guest just dropped a new music video for “Party of One,” a song off her most recent album “By the Way, I Forgive You” which was last week nominated for six Grammy awards.

The Bérénice Eveno-directed video stars Elisabeth Moss of “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Mad Men” fame alongside Nicole Disson. It follows the two women’s rollercoaster of a relationship, including arguments, sadness, and reconciliation. “We’ve been witnessing an entire generation being granted access to a civil right and all of the pressure and all of the joy that comes with that,” Carlile said in a statement describing the video.

As Stern Show listeners may remember, Brandi discussed her sexuality during her April debut. She told Howard her friends and family have always been supportive and that being openly gay has never negatively affected her career. She also revealed she looked up to fellow Stern Show guest Ellen DeGeneres for how she broached the subject on her ‘90s sitcom, even going so far as to secretly tape the comedian’s much-discussed “coming out episode.”

In addition to starring in “Party of One,” Moss serves as the video’s creative director and one of its producers. It’s not the first video for the closing track off “By the Way, I Forgive You,” either—Brandi and Sam Smith previously recorded a duet for the song and donated a portion of the proceeds to a charity impacting children affected by war.
