VIDEO: Roseanne Yells While Riding Her Automatic Stair Lift in Latest Reboot Teaser

New trailer also confirms the return of Johnny Galecki's character David

March 21, 2018

Ever since the first trailer for the reboot of “Roseanne” dropped during the 2018 Oscars, fans of the original series have all been wondering whether David (Johnny Galecki) will return. On Tuesday, they got their answer.

A new teaser for the new season features Galecki reprising his role as Darlene’s (Sara Gilbert) high school boyfriend. In the trailer, David comes through Darlene’s window, just like he did back in the day, despite being a full-grown adult now.

“They kept everything exactly the way it was when you guys were kids,” David says upon entering the Conner household. Darlene replies, “It’s a decorating choice called poverty.”

One new addition to Roseanne’s humble abode, however, is a new automatic stair lift which she slowly rides to the top while yelling to her family above that she’s on her way.

The new iteration of “Roseanne” also sees the return of John Goodman despite his character Dan dying of a heart attack in the final season of the original show. Executive producer of the “Roseanne” reboot Whitney Cummings couldn’t tell Howard how they were going to bring Dan back to life when she visited the Stern Show in 2017. She did admit to being such a Goodman fan though that working with him had brought her to tears several times throughout the production.

“I cry at least twice a week at the idea of writing dialogue for Dan Conner,” Whitney told Howard. Hear more of her stories from the “Roseanne” set in the audio (below)

”Roseanne,” also starring Laurie Metcalf, Michael Fishman, Lecy Goranson, and Sarah Chalke returns to ABC on Tuesday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET. Watch the trailer (above).
