VIDEO: Tom Hardy Unleashes the Deadly Alien Within in New ‘Venom’ Trailer

Marvel anti-hero's much anticipated standalone film debuts Oct. 5

Marvel’s most notorious alien symbiote has finally been unleashed in the latest trailer for “Venom,” opening in October.

Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock, an investigative reporter who gets more than he bargained for after digging too deep on a story about mysterious government-funded testing. Soon he’s infected with an alien parasite granting him enhanced strength, a prehensile tongue, and the ability to shape-shift his arms into deadly weapons. But the powers come at a price—namely, his sanity.

Previous trailers for the Ruben Fleischer-directed film mostly hinted at Eddie’s inevitable transformation into Venom, but the latest promo (above) shows the infamous Marvel anti-hero in all his maiming, mauling, licking, and possibly amputating glory.

In one memorable scene, Venom takes over Eddie's body and threatens a man looking to rob his local convenience store. “We will eat both your arms and then both of your legs and then we will eat your face right off your head," Venom growls. “You will be this armless, legless, faceless thing, won’t you? Going down the street like a turd in the wind.”

“Venom,” also starring Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate opens Oct. 5. Watch the latest trailer (above).
