VIDEO: Dakota Johnson and Chloë Grace Moretz Are Dancers in the Company of Evil in Official ‘Suspiria’ Trailer

Upcoming remake of Dario Argento’s classic 1977 horror film co-stars Tilda Swinton and Mia Goth

Dakota Johnson and Chloë Grace Moretz are nimble young dance students in the company of evil in the official trailer for “Suspiria,” the upcoming eagerly anticipated remake of Dario Argento’s classic 1977 horror film.

The new clip begins (above) with Moretz (“Kick-Ass,” “The Equalizer”) writhing around the floor of her shrink’s office, bemoaning the nefarious forces within her world-renowned, all-female dance company: “At the beginning she gave me things. Perfect balance. Perfect sleep. Now she wants to get inside of me. I can feel her. She can see me.”

“She,” it seems, is Oscar winner Tilda Swinton (“Michael Clayton”)—the Berlin-based dance company’s artistic director who may have found a gifted new student in Johnson (“Fifty Shades of Grey,” “The Social Network”). But if Johnson is to rise to the top of her class, she must likely endure more than just a low-carb diet and rigorous workout regimen. She’ll also have harrowing nightmares, hidden passageways, creepy occult rituals, and quite possibly three unholy minions of Satan to contend with.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino (“Call Me by Your Name”) and distributed by Amazon Studios, “Suspiria” also features Mia Goth (“A Cure for Wellness”) and Jessica Harper, the star of the original.

“Suspiria” premieres Sept. 1 at the Venice Film Festival before dancing its way into select U.S. theaters on Oct. 26 and opening wide on Nov. 2.
