VIDEO: Snoop Dogg Takes Issue With the War on Drugs in 'Grass Is Greener' Documentary Trailer

Snoop Dogg and an array of cannabis-loving celebrities shine a light on America’s complicated relationship with marijuana in the upcoming Netflix documentary “Grass Is Greener.”

Directed by filmmaker and “Yo! MTV Raps” alum Fab 5 Freddy, the film seeks to contextualize the country’s racially-tinged war on marijuana, the devastating impact unnecessary criminalization has had on black and Latino communities, and the modern legalization efforts turning cannabis into one of America’s most profitable industries. The doc features interviews with a litany of pro-weed entertainers, including not just Snoop but also Cypress Hill rapper and fellow Stern Show veteran B-Real as well as Damian Marley, Doug E. Fresh, Killer Mike, Chuck D, and DMC.

“We’re not the war on drugs,” Snoop explains in the trailer (above). “We’re fighting the war on drugs.”

The multi-platinum rapper has of course been an unabashed marijuana advocate for years. During his most recent visit to the Stern Show, Snoop even recalled having Tupac Shakur hand-deliver him weed backstage at “Saturday Night Live” with Madonna in tow. Watch the incredible story (below).
