VIDEO: Seth Rogen Goes Undercover as a White Nationalist and Charlize Theron Announces Her Bid for Presidency in New ‘Long Shot’ Trailer

Political romantic comedy opens May 3

Charlize Theron is cautioned against getting involved with fellow Stern Show guest Seth Rogen in the new trailer for “Long Shot,” a political romantic comedy opening next month.

The minute-long clip begins with Secretary of State Charlotte Field (Theron) announcing she’s running for president. Like with any candidate there will be many obstacles in her way, but none of them present a challenge quite like that of Fred Flarsky (Rogen), an accident-prone political reporter she used to babysit back in the day.

While previous trailers focused on the leads’ budding romantic chemistry while bonding on the campaign trail, this new one highlights Rogen’s character’s propensity for disaster.

“Bringing someone like Fred on the team is a little reckless,” one of Secretary Field’s strategists (June Diane Raphael) declares over shots of Flarsky tripping down stairs at a party and jumping out a window after unsuccessfully infiltrating what appears to be a gathering of neo-Nazis.

Directed by Jonathan Levine (“Snatched”) and written by Dan Sterling and Liz Hannah, “Long Shot” also stars O’Shea Jackson Jr. (“Straight Outta Compton”), Andy Serkis (“Black Panther”), Alexander Skarsgård (“True Blood”), and Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul”).

“Long Shot” opens May 3.
