Stern Show veterans Bill Murray and Adam Driver play two sheriffs tasked with warning everyone in their small town about a zombie outbreak in “The Dead Don’t Die,” an irreverent and bloody comedy from director Jim Jarmusch. Unfortunately for the good people of Centerville, Murray’s character has no intention of getting every last citizen to safety.

“We passed Farmer Miller’s place a while ago,” Driver tells his partner as they speed on down the road. “Do we need to inform him?”

“Fuck Farmer Miller,” Murray responds.

Whereas the film’s previous trailer followed the small-town heroes—who also include a third cop (Chloë Sevigny) and a drag makeup-loving Scottish mortician (Tilda Swinton)—as they learned of the zombie outbreak, the newly released red band trailer shows the group getting familiar with the rules of the game.

“You gotta kill the head. Decapitate. It’s the only way to kill them,” Driver explains over a montage of cocking guns, puking humans, and Adam himself taking a hatchet to the head of Murray’s “Scrooged” co-star Carol Kane.

Written by Jarmusch, the film opened Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival. It co-stars Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Iggy Pop, RZA, Selena Gomez, and Tom Waits.

“The Dead Don’t Die” arrives in theaters on June 14.
