Actress and second-time “Saturday Night Live” host Kristen Stewart squares off against Emmy-winning cast member Kate McKinnon in a new teaser for this weekend’s episode of NBC’s long-running sketch comedy series.
The clip begins with the “Charlie’s Angels” star on stage in Studio 8H. She’s recording a no-frills promo for Saturday night’s episode featuring Stern Show veteran Chris Martin and his band Coldplay as the musical guest. But there’s a heckler in Stewart’s midst—it’s McKinnon, smoking a cigarette and watching on from the shadows. “Great job, Kristin, but I think we all know who the king of the castle is around here, right?” she says (above).
Stewart stands her ground confidently. “Apparently somebody thought I did a pretty good job,” she responds, referencing her recent first appearance on “SNL.”
“Yeah, your mom,” McKinnon retorts, just before the clip takes on the feel of an action movie and the two women throw down for an intense thumb wrestling match.
Kristen Stewart and Coldplay’s episode of “SNL” airs Saturday at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
