Bruce Springsteen Sets His ‘Hello Sunshine’ Lyric Video to a Dusty Road Trip

New song hails from the Boss’s June 14 album “Western Stars”

Bruce Springsteen depicts a dusty, desert road trip in the lyric video for his new song “Hello Sunshine.” The tune hails from the rock legend’s upcoming June 14 studio album “Western Stars.”

Released late last week at midnight, the clip (above) doesn’t feature the Boss himself, though it does follow a classic car with New Jersey license plates as it drives down a seemingly endless road. Bruce has been teasing both the track and his upcoming album of original songs—his first since 2012’s “Wrecking Ball”—for several days on social media. According to reports, the 13-track effort was inspired by the likes of Burt Bacharach and Glen Campbell.

“This record is a return to my solo recordings featuring character driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements,” Springsteen said in a statement. “It’s a jewel box of a record.”

Though “Western Stars” may be the iconic rocker’s first fresh album in the better part of a decade, Bruce has kept plenty busy in the interim. He has toured relentlessly, including putting on an exclusive show for SiriusXM subscribers and the Stern Show’s own Howard, Robin, Gary Dell’Abate, and Fred Norris, and he also masterminded his own Tony-winning concert special, “Springsteen on Broadway,” which Howard and Gary saw twice during its acclaimed 2017-2018 run.

“Western Stars” is available June 14. Get the full track listing here.
